Hey Everybody.

I just wanted to say HI!!!
I'm Audra and I just started posting here.
I'm 20, in college, and 260lbs.
I have a RNY surgrey date for April 1st and I'm really excited.
I thought an introduction would be cool, I feel like I need to meet some people on here!!! :)

I start my pre-op luiquid diet in 9 days. I've been waiting a long time for this and it seems unreal that the days are now winding down.

I felt like maybe I could find some support on here, because though a I have a couple friends and a mother who are finally coming around to the idea and being a little supportive, now more so than at first, they still worry alot and many use the excuse that I am soo young and they don't know if it is right to choose something like this. I just was wondering if anyone had thoughts on this.
Don't get me wrong,  I'm not changing my mind, I know that I want to go through with everything. I've done the research and all the testing, I know whats up. And I know that in the long run it will probably cure/prevent many health problems that could accure later on from being overwieght.

Even though most days I am confident in my descicion, I still have doubts and get a little worried sometimes that I will someday regret it.... *sigh*

Anyway...
I need some friendss on here. So let me know whats up with you guys i'm interested in your stories!!! Add me! Talk to me!

Audra,

I had my band placed when I was 21, and in college. A lot of people gave me flack about being too young- but mostly I think they were just scared in general, and that was an appropriate way for them to voice it. I think no matter when you have it people will have reservations. are you gonna be in school around your surgery time? I did that, but it wasn't easy... will you also have exams shortly thereafter?

welcome to our board, it has been a great encouragement to me, and I'm sure it will be for you too

Ann

Yeah. I will be in school when I have my surgery. I'm having over our little bit of an easter break. I'm gonna do my best to keep up with the work and all, that is gonna be tough, but, I didn't want to wait any longer than I already have to get it done. So, I guess I'll have to do my best.  Yeah, my fianls will be abou a month post op. then I have the summer to drop the pounds.
thanks for your comment. I'm glad to hear that someone else went through similar issues both with age and school.
I guess I have to see what comes.
